“Welcoming atmosphere, food with thought”

Ate dinner here on a Sunday night, and the bar was full. Turns out that Sundays are trivia night and the excited competitive crowd was having a spirited time. Despite the bustle of the bar, we were given great attention in the quiet dining room. Sticking with the restaurant's theme, we had the Shamrock salad and the Shamrock pizza, nachos and wings. The Shamrock pizza is an inspired re-working of a Reuben sandwich. While the other items we ordered were not unique, they starred with fresh ingredients and ample presentation. I would happily come back again. I want to try my brain at trivia!

“A great stop!”

I have been here very often now and have always had a great time, great food, and great beverages! You never know if it's going to be quiet or slow on a Tuesday (the night I often go out with friends) but the staff is always accommodating and we have never been let down. Thank you to the family, staff, and new friends at Shamrocks!

“Great new renovation.”

This is one of our favorite Friday restaurants. They have the best fish fry in town. Very friendly bar and if you are a Notre Dame fan you'll love it there.

We had been moving a relative all day and found this spot. We had tasty boneless chicken wings, real good soups. We had the shepherds pie, salmon and scallops. We wanted to try the steam clams but they were out. Overall a very nice dinner. Cost about $80 for three

“SHAMROCK JACKS => Truly a "Must Visit" Irish Bar/Restaurant!!”
Reviewed July 29, 2011 (Trip Advisor)
Don't miss an opportunity to visit this family owned Irish establishment! As soon as you walk through the door you feel like your at home and everyone welcomes you in! Whether you're in for Irish fare or some awesome prime rib, steaks, or seafood, Shamrock Jacks will not disappoint! Noted and awarded for the "Best Fish Fry in Rochester", the seafood is delivered fresh daily, none of that frozen fresh you get at other chain restaurants.
The restaurant was converted from a former dance studio and house so each dining area has its own unique appeal, the main dining area, the vineyard room, and the library room. If your a sports fan you will want to be there for Notre Dame games as well as most other major sports on several flat screen TV's around the bar area. Enjoy dinner on the front porch or patio if you're an outdoor person.
Reservations are accepted for parties of 8 or more but usually call ahead seating is the way to go to ensure your place.
Owner Cathy Pezting will make you feel like family and the service is fantastic! Check out the link to the website for photos, menu items, and by all means stop in!

What an awesome find. We had plans of going to the Parkside Diner and trying that, but it was closed for renovations. So, we just kept driving and ran across this place. It was getting late for lunch so we stopped instead of driving on into Charlotte.
Wow. It comes across as a fun bar that just happens to serve food. Nope. It is an awesome little restaurant. Lovey had the burger and on cheese. I had the Irish Nachos and the Jack burger with Baked potato salad. MMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Yummy. Burgers were coked to perfection and the hand cut fries were perfect. Salad was really good. The Jack burger comes on texas toast with caramelized onions, BBQ Sauce and Gouda. Amazing. Irish Nachos are freaking good.
Alyssa(?) our waitress was a joy. She was prompt, friendly and very good at her job. I didn't realize til we left that this place is right next to the Seabreeze amusement park.
Great place and we will be back.

An amazing family experience that becomes continuously new and improved every time we visit. More tables and space but starting to notice how confused people are with the hostess area ...how do we let someone know we are here for a table?

Great food and good people. I enjoy Shamrock Jacks for all different occasions. Taking the family out for a good meal at a reasonable price or going out with some friends to watch live music or a game. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is inviting. Go see for yourself.

Had an exceptionally good burger here last Friday night. Hand formed 1/2 pound of juicy medium rare goodness served on a fresh toasted bun with bacon and blue cheese, and LTO. I could have used a flip top head to get my teeth into this 4 inch high monster. Very fairly priced at $9. Fish fry is a huge portion of well seasoned haddock, breaded or broiled, and comes with cole slaw and choice of a side. Also delicious. The fries are hand sliced, unpeeled potato wedges, a nice change from the usual freezer fries We started with the fried cheese curds, which were somewhat bland, but crunchy batter, almost too crunchy, as they were hard to pierce with a fork. Spicy dipping sauce could have been spicier. Excellent well rounded selection of draft beers with several local mircrobrews, plus Guinness, and Magner's. I was hoping to enjoy the deep fried pickles, but alas, they are sliced into ruffled medallions, instead of lengthwise, which I think ruins the textural experience, and no spicy dipping sauce. So Sticky Lips is still champ in the fried pickle category. But Shamrock's is a cozy Irish pub, with a good atmosphere. Great place for happy hour and/or a casual dinner. I saw a tap takeover on the blackboard above the bar coming up next weekend...

This is one of my local restaurants/bars and I have grown to love it. My last visit included several beers with an order of Jack Fries, which was not nearly large enough. A complaint to the owner and we promptly got a fresh, new plate of them. I have sampled everything from the steaks to the burgers to the soup...all delicious, fresh, and well-presented. The crowd on the weekends is younger, but staff and regulars are always friendly. Shamrock's throws one heck of a St. Patty's Day party, too. Irish dancers, bagpipers, bands... The bar area and front porch are currently under construction, but don't let that deter you from a visit. Just go around back!

We found this place quite by mistake and having an Irish wife, I thought it would be fun. It was a Sunday evening and the NFL playoffs were on. The bar was pretty subdued, but we ate in the dining room, my wife had the Fish Fry and the piece was HUGE! The Jack Fries were fresh and delicious and the fish was easily some of the best I have ever had or cooked myself and I am a highly experienced chef! I had the Shepard's Pie and it too was exceptionally good. We plan on making this a regular stop, as the service and food were top notch!
Saturday night...staff and owner very kind and accommodating..plenty of parking..dining rooms quaint..ate in the library room..menu variety nice easy to read. food was great..easy on the wallet. had shepherds pie..generous portion..excellent..rib eye steak generous portion, done to perfection..no rush for table turn over..one side of building..large pub..lots of people having fun.. Decidedly repeat customer.. Bon Appetite!

They revamped their menu and things have improved. Prices are fair, portions are large, staff is friendly. The Reuben and Cuban sandwiches are solid picks. My wife got the salmon and enjoyed it. I recently tried the Pittsburgh Salad with grilled ribeye - lots of steak for $15! Very tasty and good value. A safe pick.
